Situated in the southeast region of the Indian sub-continent are a group of around 572 islands and islets, known as the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This Union Territory is a 700km stretch from north to south and look like little emeralds floating on Bay of Bengal. It is a great tourist destination as it has a lot to offer to the tourists. It has some awesome islands, dense forests, white sandy beaches, coral reef and coastline lined with coconut palms which are a treat to watch. Andaman is also famous for its water sports like snorkeling, scuba diving and surfing to name a few.

The Long island is famous for the Lalaji Bay and dolphins can be seen in this part of the sea. The Havelock Island is beauty personified with dense tropical forest on one side and white sandy beach on the other. The Rangat and the Mayabunder islands are famous for turtle nesting. The Jolly Buoy, Clinque, Red Skin, Barren, Viper islands and the Ross and Smith twin Islands are also beautiful. The Chatham Saw Mill is also a place of importance as it is the largest saw mill of Asia. The Cellular Jail in Port Blair is of historical importance as a place where freedom fighters were kept in solitude.
